About me

Writer and amateur photographer with way too many interests, including organic gardening, children’s books, cats, solar and alternative energy, Rumi and spirituality. I have a weakness for coffee and dark chocolate.

I have been writing a children’s book for the last year, which I hope to finish before I’m dead. Working on the 4th or 5th rewrite. It’s evolving, deepening. I like where it’s going, but I would like to get it finished!

    Peace be upon you,

Where did you find that sea shell? Looking forward to seeing your blog develop and getting to know more of your eclectic interests

    Kind regards.

Isn’t this an incredible shell? It came from the few things I inherited from my mother’s possessions. I took the photo on black velvet with the sun coming through a window above. It was an experiment that worked!

Yes, surely it is incredible and yes, the experiment did work. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I wonder, are those your cats in your icon? What are they called?

    Kind regards.

The kitties are Marco and Polo. They are now about 1 year old and are the inspiration for a children’s book that I am writing.

Good of you to respond. That is rather curious – Marco Polo. Recently I read the about the travellers of Ibn Battutah, who was a Moroccan travellers who covered almost four times the distance of Marco Polo. So why Marco Polo?

    Kind regards.

I was looking for names for my two kittens and wanted a paired set that would also work separately. The other choice was Sherlock and Holmes. I am familiar with Ibn Battutah, but I don’t know if ‘Ibn’ and ‘Battutah’ would work quite as well for kitty cat names.

Hi, I’m starting to read your blog and I’m liking it quite a lot.

But where are your kitties? I can’t see them, except for that little avatar of your.

Claudia: I’ve been thinking about uploading my kitties on here. Just need a plan and some time.
Love your cat photos by the way with the mouse-over comments. Very creative.
